Leaving for Boston

After almost a year since we began planning, the day has finally come to begin the thirty -five day cruise through the North Atlantic. Our itinerary takes us into three Canadian provinces (Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador), Greenland, Iceland, Norway, The Netherlands, and Ireland, then back to Iceland, Greenland, and Canada. Click here to read the initial review of this long cruise and some impressions.

So we begin our trip with our good friend Tom driving us to Brunswick Station to catch our train to Boston, where we will board our Holland America ship Zuiderdam tomorrow. The train trip was uneventful and we arrived in Boston North
Station about ten minutes late. Our driver,
Sheroze from Blacklane, picked us up outside the
station and took us to the Seaport Boston Hotel.
After we checked into the hotel, we met our
traveling companions, Eric and Pegi, from
Houston. They were the ones who suggested we
take this cruise. Later we had dinner at Nautilus,
then returned to the hotel to prepare for sailing out of Boston tomorrow.
