Sydney, Nova Scotia
Day four began as usual; coffee at the Crow's Nest and breakfast at the Lido Market, which has become our morning routine.
We arrived in Sydney at 08:00 and, since we did not
require a tender to go ashore, we departed early to get
to our excursion called Bird Islands of Cape Breton.
From the dock, where we encountered the world's
largest fiddle. The bus ride to Cape Breton Island was
short. The tour boat took us through the Bras d'Or
channel to the Bird Islands. They are the nesting
grounds for thousands of seabirds, including razorbills,
kittiwakes, bald eagles, and hundreds of pairs of
Atlantic puffins. We also saw seals and and many other
types of marine wildlife. Captain Vince and Captain
Ian from Bird Island Boat Tours provided a cruise that
was informative and entertaining.
We returned to the ship, had a drink at
the Pinnacle Bar and played trivia
again. Brandon used logos for the
questions and it was quite difficult but
quite entertaining.
We had dinner in the Dining Room
and retire to our little cabin.
