Corner Brook, Newfoundland

Day five began with a loss of an hour due to our eastwardly journey to
Corner Brook. Therefore, we slightly changed our morning routine by
ordering breakfast in our cabin, which we thought would save us time.
However, the size and layout of our cabin made it difficult to eat and
our choices for breakfast were limited. Another lesson learned about
life aboard ship. The loss of an hour was significant
because we have an early excursion to Gros Morne
National Park.

The long bus ride was exacerbated by the condition of the restroom on
the bus. Considering the general age of the passengers, this made some
uncomfortable.

So, when we arrived at our first stop, most people were unaware of the small
outdoor toilet nearby and walked farther than necessary to find relief.  This will                                be referred to as the "Great Bus Bathroom Disaster".
This first stop was Tablelands, within Gros Morne. It
is a barren landscape made up of peridotite rocks
                            throughout.
Peridotite
                            rock is not friendly to
plant life accounting for the barren look.
The rocky trails led us
into the park where we
were able to learn more
about this fascinating
place. On the way back,
we went to Trout River,
to have lunch at the
Seaside restaurant.
