Nanortalik, Greenland

Nanortalik was our port for day nine and we were excited about Among the Icebergs, the excursion for the day. We had breakfast in out cabin (for the third time). We learned that the cabin is too small to enjoy breakfast but the excursion started early and  we wanted to be ready in time.
 
The tender took us into Nanortalik and we began exploring the
village, looking for the pier where our RIB (rubber inflatable boat)
would be taking us to the nearby icebergs. We found the local gift
shop, where we also bought tickets to the Nanortalik Church in
the village.
                                                     We excitedly boarded our inflatable
                                                     boat and began a cold and windy
                                                     trip to several large icebergs. We eventually got close enough to
                                                     touch one and even broke off a piece and took a bite. It was an
                                                     exhilarating experience.
 
                                                     After returning to the Zuiderdam, we decided to have lunch                                                                   poolside, with a hot dog from the Dive-In. It was the first time we
                                                                                                        had tried it and found it to be very
                                                                                                        pleasant.  A perfect ending to the                                                                                                                  late afternoon.
