at sea for Norway
Days fourteen and fifteen were spent crossing the Atlantic to Europe. Our next port will be in Oslo. This was a pretty uneventful voyage, but it did give us a chance to rest
from "ship lag", which has been caused by losing a few hours sleep due to time
changes when traveling east. Anyway, it gives an opportunity to show a glimpse
of what life is like on Zuiderdam, starting with our morning First, we have the
long walk forward to the bow (our cabin is more astern) in order to access the
Crow's Nest , on deck ten, for coffee because it's much better than what's at the
Lido Market. Then, we go down to the Lido deck where we must walk back
toward the stern past the pool (and the poolside polar bears) in order to have
breakfast at the Lido Market. This has been the ritual so far
this trip and will probably remain so for the rest of the
cruise.
Lunch in the Dining Room is a rarity, but we have learned
that it can also be disappointing. For example, The picture
to the right of the polar bears is a chicken salad sandwich.
When the weather is nice, it can be very pleasant to walk on
the Promenade Deck. However, there usually
is not much to see when at sea. Occasionally,
some passengers may see a whale spouting or
a porpoise, but that doesn't happen often.
Anyway, check out the arrival in Oslo and
our experiences there.
