Djúpivogur, Iceland

We arrived in Djúpivogur on day twenty-four. Sue
and I will Discover the Black Sands of Djúpivogur,
on this excursion. It was a very cold and windy
day and the ride in the tender was rough. When we
arrived, we were taken by a van to the local airstrip
where our guide explained that we would walk from
the airstrip to the beach.  The strangely shifting
black sands were fascinating, but
the cold winds made the walk very uncomfortable
and we were glad to return back to the port. Pegi and
Eric had cancelled this trip the day before and they
                                          were glad after we told them
                                          what it had been like on the beach.

                                          After dinner, we donned our costumes for the Costume
                                          Party that night. It was a lot of fun and people liked my
                                          "Werewolves of London" costume. Sue had hoped that
                                          some would recognize her "Rat Pack" costume. Maybe
                                          it was too subtle.
